Maciej Gański

One of the outstanding pianists of his generation. Born in 1984 in Gdańsk. Completed with distinction the Primary and Secondary Music School in Gdańsk. In 2008 he graduated with distinction from the S. Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk in the piano class of Prof. A. Artykiewicz and chamber music class of Prof. A. Prabucka-Firlej. In 2011 he completed postgraduate studies at The Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Odense (Denmark) in the piano class of Prof. C. Bjørkøe.

Maciej Gański has played more than 600 concerts in Europe, USA, China, Japan and Egypt. He has performed as a soloist with philharmonic orchestras. He premiered the IV Piano Concerto of M. Magin in Poland and has participated in international music festivals. He recorded for the Polish Television (TVP Polonia, TVP Gdańsk), Spanish and Japanese television and the Danish Radio. His broad repertoire contains i.a. the III Piano Concerto of Rachmaninov and the Liszt transcription of the Wagner’s Tannhäuser opera, two of the most difficult pieces in the piano literature. Maciej Gański has been awarded The City of Gdańsk Prize for Young Artists in the field of Culture for his outstanding achievements.

The artist is also a laureate of the Youth Competition at the 41st Festival of Polish Pianism in Słupsk and several important Polish piano competitions. He has taken part in many prestigious national and international scholarship programmes (i.a. from the Danish Government and the Polish Ministry of Culture). He participated in masterclasses of such artists as: N. Delle-Vigne Fabbri, P. Entremont, E. Indjic, A. Jasiński, L. Kum-Sing, J. Marchwiński, W. Nosina, E. Pobłocka, B. Ringeissen, N. Schmidt, W. Wojtal and the members of Camerata Quartet.
